Formulating and creating your own beverage can be an extremely daunting task. You have the idea, the inspiration, you can see the product but you don’t know where to start. We pride ourselves on providing a very thorough, professional and hands on development process to take your product from an idea, into a laboratory tested ready to be manufactured product.

A step-by-by guide: from idea to product in your hands

  • Initial Consultation

    We are very good listeners. We want to really get to know you, fully appreciate your wants and needs and understand your objectives. From here we work with you, giving clear and concise advise. Translating your ideas into reality, solving your issues and maximising what is possible from the idea to market.

  • Concept Development

    Once we have had the initial consultation and an understanding of your product and idea, we look at the beverages product life cycle, from idea to product in your hand. We provide you with an understanding of what is involved in the development and manufacturing processes and can advise on the competitive landscape, pricing and distribution. We can give guidance in respect to approvals, testing, labelling packaging, IP protection and approvals as it relates to beverages here and overseas. We will review your product in finer detail discussing ingredients, flavour profiles, nutritional profiles, production, manufacturing capabilities, packaging, closures, marketing and distribution. We will detail the development process and the cost involved for your specific products and requirements.

  • Formulation & Testing

    Developing your Beverage is the fun part! At RJ8 we maintain a very open dialogue with our clients to ensure that you are aware of the products development as it is progressing. You are an integral part of the formulation process and we will have numerous face to face meetings for planning, tastings, sampling and consultation along the way. Our aim is to develop exactly what you want. Once developed, we put your product through a rigorous range of tests to assess stability, check nutritional profiling and bulk manufacturing requirements. We have strenuous laboratory processing techniques to ensure our products meets high standards and exceed all regulatory requirements.

  • Producing your beverage

    Now that your product is ready for volume production, we need to assess the numerous facilities available to manufacture your product. Some facilities, based on their infrastructure and machinery, will be better suited than others! We know them all, and will find the best option. We are extremely commercial, understand the risks and we know how to create value. We work with you to ensure the manufacturer is fully appraised of what is required, appropriately briefed and contracted. More often then not, we will be with you at the manufacturing plant on the day of your first trial run.
